TREASURY AND TAX UNIT

OUR MANDATE

We are managing the organization's liquidity by monitoring the projected cash inflow and outflow to ensure proper funding of the business.  Moreover, ensure timely vendor payments within the approved credit terms.  On the other hand, comply with applicable tax laws and regulations in each country where Dragon Oil operates; and ensure insurance coverage for all Dragon Oil and successful claims for damages.

Fatma Al Jaziri
Treasury & Tax Manager

Fatma Al Jaziri is an accomplished finance leader who joined Dragon Oil in July 2014, following 18 years of distinguished service in international banking with Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) and HSBC. At SCB, she held the position of Associate Director in the Global Corporate Department, where she developed expertise in managing large-scale financial operations and corporate treasury functions.

In her current role as Treasury and Tax Manager at Dragon Oil, Fatma oversees critical areas including Treasury, Tax & Compliance. Her strategic management of these functions is instrumental to the company’s financial stability and operational success. Fatma is highly recognized within the Finance Department for her oversight of high-value, sensitive responsibilities that are vital to Dragon Oil’s financial governance and overall success.

Fatma began her career at Dragon Oil in the Finance Department, later transitioning to Human Resources in 2015 as a Recruiting Officer. She was then promoted to Training and Development Supervisor. Her diverse experience across departments has enhanced her leadership skills and broadened her understanding of organizational dynamics, ultimately leading to her current role, where she continues to drive financial innovation and operational excellence.

Fatma AlZarooni
Controller - AP & Treasury

Fatma AlZarooni is an accomplished financial professional with 13 years of experience at Drydocks World Dubai. Currently, she serves as the Treasury and Accounts Payable Controller at Dragon Oil, managing cash flow to ensure liquidity and optimizing excess cash use. She maintains key relationships with banks and financial institutions, ensuring smooth financial transactions.

Fatma excels in financial planning and analysis, forecasting cash flows, and providing strategic insights. She oversees vendor management and payments, ensuring timely and accurate financial obligations. Her strong command of financial accounting principles and deep knowledge of IAS/IFRS standards are effectively applied within the oil and gas industry. Fatma is proficient in managing ERP systems, supporting departmental needs, and eliminating inefficiencies.

She supervises a team, ensuring monthly ledger reconciliations and prompt resolution of discrepancies. Known for her attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and strong supervisory skills, Fatma is a vital leader in her department. She is committed to continuous improvement, enhancing processes, reducing costs, and increasing productivity in line with international best practices.

Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Fatma has 14 years of experience in large organizations, with over 5 years in similar roles. Her extensive experience, especially in the shipyard and drydocks sectors, equips her with the specialized knowledge to navigate financial accounting complexities in the oil and gas industry.

Saritha Shetty
Account Analyst – Insurance and Tax

In January 2018, Saritha Shetty joined Dragon Oil as Senior Accountant, mainly undertaking Tax and Insurance function in Finance. She has over 10 years of financial experience in various sectors ranging from Investment Banking, Oil and Gas Mid-stream to upstream.

 

Saritha earned a Business Management degree from Mangalore University. She also has a yellow belt certification in Lean Six Sigma.

Saritha Shetty is a strong team player who brings a high level of professionalism and talent. From she first started in the year 2005 as an Analyst in Deutsche Bank to Tax advisor in Halliburton to becoming Senior Tax Accountant at Dragon Oil, she has steadily progressed in her career. Saritha has also received awards such as 'Star of the Month' and 'Maximizing Value-Added Performer' on various occasions at Deutsche Bank and Halliburton.

Afsal Puthiyottil
Treasury Accountant 

Afsal joined Dragon Oil in July 2018 and brings over 10 years of experience in various sectors of finance. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance and has built a strong foundation in accounting, auditing, and treasury management.

Before joining Dragon Oil, Afsal worked in the accounting and auditing field in Dubai for four years, where he gained extensive experience in financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.

Currently, Afsal serves as a Treasury Accountant at Dragon Oil, where he is responsible for managing payments and preparing critical treasury reports. His expertise in cash flow management and financial analysis plays a vital role in supporting the company’s financial operations

Abdunosir Kadirov
Head of Tax & Compliance

Nosir joined Dragon Oil as Senior Corporate Accountant in July 2013 and later was promoted to Head of Tax and compliance . He has over 17 years of financial experience, including academic experience of lecturing with the State University of Uzbekistan for almost 7 years as Senior Lecturer and Deputy Dean.

 

Before joining Dragon Oil, Nosir worked with the international accounting and auditing firm “Ernst & Young” for 7 years in UAE, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan.

​

Nosir earned a B.Sc degree in Finance from the Finance Institute of Finance in Uzbekistan, an MSc degree in Finance from Loughborough University in the UK, and an international accounting professional qualification from the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA).

​

Since January 2018, Nosir has been working as Financial Controller – Tax and Compliance responsible for managing Group tax and insurance matters. He also manages financial and tax due diligence in respect of M&A activities of the Dragon Oil and Business Development Team.

Lalitha Saravanan
Senior Account Analyst - Treasury 

Lalitha is an accomplished Senior Analyst at Dragon Oil, with 17 years of dedicated service to the company. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce and Accounts and has completed the intermediate level certification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). In her current role, Lalitha is responsible for key Treasury functions, including managing and executing disbursements to contractors, vendors, and employees, overseeing cash management processes such as cash flow forecasting and the strategic deployment of surplus funds, as well as preparing weekly cash position reports and finalizing bank reconciliations.

Lalitha is known for her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to perform under pressure. She consistently delivers high-quality results within strict deadlines, making her a valuable asset to her team. Her exceptional performance has been recognized on multiple occasions, as evidenced by her being awarded "Employee of the Month" twice.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Lalitha is deeply committed to community service, actively contributing to charitable organizations and educational institutions. Before joining Dragon Oil, she worked as a Financial Analyst at Accenture, where she gained significant experience conducting audits across diverse industries, including hospitality, media, manufacturing, banking, and FMCG. Additionally, she authored an article on hotel audits, which was published in a professional magazine.

Lalitha's blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to excellence makes her a standout professional in her field.

Forozan Karimi
Account Analyst – Treasury

Since 2015, Forozan has been a key team member of the Accounts Payable team. She is also a founding member of the KPI team which later transformed to be the performance team. She is also a key member of the AP Taskforce which primary mandate is to clear all the backlogs of AP invoices. She also assisted in the set up of AP functions in the various Dragon Oil country of operations e.g. Algeria and Tunisia.

Nada Alsaleh

Senior Account Analyst

On January 5, 2020, Nada has joined Dragon oil, she acquired a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the Higher Colleges of Technology in 2019. Nada's current job title is Accountant in Finance Department. Nada's goals are to increase professional knowledge and training, attain leadership roles, and gain new experiences. Nada aspires to be a great employee and diligent in her work so that she can reach her goals and succeed in her future.

Rajalakshmi Venkatesan

Account Analyst – Insurance and Tax

Akhil Krishnan

Accounts Payable Accountant

Akhil Krishnan is an experienced AP Accountant at Dragon Oil, where he has been part of the team since September 2018. With over 12 years of experience in various accounting fields, He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role. Akhil holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance and a Master's degree in Human Resources.

​As an Accounts Payable Accountant at Dragon Oil, he is responsible for managing and processing the company’s payments to suppliers and vendors. This includes tasks such as verifying invoices, ensuring payments are accurate, and making sure that all transactions are recorded properly in the financial system.

Rajalakshmi is a Chartered Accountant and has worked in EY India for 13+ years across EY's Business Consulting and Corporate Tax service lines.

Over the years, she has gained the ability to develop a well-rounded understanding of and solve issues across operational, technological, legal and financial aspects relating to any business.

During her tenure in EY's Business Consulting practice (6+ years), she successfully led multiple Indirect-tax transformation projects for prominent clients such as world’s leading car manufacturer, India's largest automobile corporate dealer, large non-banking finance company. Rajalakshmi was instrumental in designing service delivery models that significantly reduced team sizes, solving complex issues across diverse IT systems and accounting landscapes and in and fostering collaborative discussions leading to measurable business outcomes. She has also led engagements of Process Automation projects identifying significant man-hour savings, Revenue Assurance projects arresting severe revenue/cost leakages and multiple Internal audits.

In her role as a Manager in EY's Corporate & International Tax Services (6+ years), Rajalakshmi furthered her skills delving into complex Business tax advisory, Tax compliance, litigation, and Tax technology solutions, demonstrating her ability to navigate complex tax matters, multi-jurisdictional compliances and optimizing taxes.

Rajalakshmi has joined Dragon oil this October’2024 as an ‘Account Analyst - Tax & Insurance’.

Rajalakshmi also holds a degree in Bachelor of Commerce which she pursued alongside her Chartered Accountancy.
